Elkhorn Slough Elasmobranch Project
Species List: Gray Smoothhound

• Found in the slough during winter and early spring, but rarely in other parts of the year (Talent, 1985)
• Feed mainly on small to medium sized crabs in the slough, and occasionally on burrowing organisms such as the fat innkeeper worm and ghost shrimp (Talent, 1982)
• No seasonal change in length frequency. (Talent, 1985)
• Gravid females contain between 3-16 embryos, however, no full-term embryos were found (Talent, 1985)
